The CELL-DYN SliderMarker or Strainer was developed by the Abbott diagnostics and is an instrument used in automated preparation of blood films and its subsequentstraining.Basically designed for use in in-vitro diagnosis, CELL-DYN is successfull in producing blood films of higher quality by optimizing its Smearing parameters.Theautoloader used has 50 different positions and is responsible for identifying each sample and aspirating 200 microLitre of it.The use of demographics designed by the user thatare printed onto the slides helps one to identify each slide.Also the use of 10user defined straining protocols and the use of wedge-smear staining technology helps to automatethe staining process and ensures its smooth running.The device is capable of producing about 80 slides in an hour.The flexibility to use any staining agent and the creation ofmultiple slides for a single sample accounts for the wider use of CELL-DYN as not only does it increase productivity and safety but also doesnt let the quality of slides made go down.
